Step 3: Apply Fixel Contrastica 2 PS
To apply Fixel Contrastica 2 PS, go to Filter > Fixel Algorithms > Fixel Contrastica 2 PS. A dialog box will appear with several options to adjust the contrast of your photo.
The first option is Resolution, which determines how fine or coarse the local contrast enhancement is. You can choose from Low, Medium, High or Ultra presets, or enter a custom value. Higher values will result in more details and sharper edges, but also more noise and artifacts. For this photo, we will use the High preset.
The second option is Global Contrast, which controls the overall contrast of your photo. You can drag the slider or enter a value from -100 to 100. Positive values will increase the contrast, while negative values will decrease it. For this photo, we will use a value of 50.
The third option is Local Contrast, which controls the contrast within small regions of your photo. You can drag the slider or enter a value from -100 to 100. Positive values will enhance the local contrast, while negative values will reduce it. For this photo, we will use a value of 25.
The fourth option is Priority, which determines which tonal range has more influence on the contrast enhancement. You can choose from Shadows, Midtones or Highlights. For this photo, we will use the Midtones option.
The fifth option is Color Mode, which determines how the plugin affects the color channels of your photo. You can choose from Normal, Color or Luminosity. Normal mode will apply the contrast enhancement to all color channels equally. Color mode will apply a unique color contrast effect that boosts the saturation of your colors. Luminosity mode will apply the contrast enhancement only to the luminosity channel, preserving the original colors of your photo. For this photo, we will use the Normal mode.
